Pedagogy

The course takes 2 years (4 semesters) to end with a Master’s degree after a final examination, which includes a discussion of the dissertation presented.

The purpose is to prepare specialists, who should be able to become involved in counseling, mediation, caretaking, and rearing work for institutions focusing on education and the two last-mentioned tasks, as well as for an open community (in a broad interpretation of the term).

This specialty provides for an extended knowledge, which is necessary in research work aimed at a more efficient judiciary counseling and mediation. The broad knowledge can also be useful in caretaking and rearing and institutions subordinated to the Ministry of Education and in similar work for an open community or social aid centres and homes.

The competences acquired by each graduate are as follows:

-      A broad theoretical and social knowledge within different fields of science, useful for a proper
       interpretation of rearing phenomena, especially those with which married couples are confronted
       in the lives of their children.

-      Researching skills.

-      Skills necessary to solve theoretical and practical problems.

-      Skills necessary for self-teaching and self-development.

-      Communication skills necessary for an educationist’s efficiency.

-      Organizing and co-ordinating skills necessary for an efficient work with families.

-      Inspiring, organizing, and co-ordinating skills necessary for local community involvement in help
       to be given to married couples and families, in a reasonable co-operation with schools and other
       educational/rearing institutions as well as with local government organs and social aid institutions.

-      Diagnostication, planning, and implementation skills necessary to support married couples
       in their caretaking and upbringing tasks, and to contribute to a proper functioning of the families
       headed by the married couples supported.

-      Skills necessary for an efficient work with individuals, married couples and families.

The students can join scientific circles in which they have opportunities to add to their knowledge, make new acquaintances, and become involved in the University’s life.

Those interested in sports are welcome to join the Academic Sports Association, an organization of long standing, with excellent achievements in many types of sporting.

There is also a student’s parliament. This invites each student to take part in the campaigns and travels initiated.

A new and perfectly equipped computer room for the students will be available in the University’s new building since the academic year 2013/2014.

Handicapped students are welcome as well. The can take advantage of whatever could facilitate their knowledge acquisition and displacement within the premises.

        work within the school system (according to the first-cycle specialty) or school counsellor work.

-       It prepares for third-cycle (postgraduate) and other further studies.

-       It entitles to apply for jobs involving in the organization of school education and educational
        activities needed by governmental institutions, local government organs, associations or foundations.

-       It is a basis for a participation in further specialized and occupational training courses,
        available to Masters of Arts.

-       It provides for teaching procedures aimed at the acquisition of a genuine broad knowledge within
        educational, psychological and social sciences.

Each second-cycle general pedagogy graduate is competent, able to grasp social problems and to cope with individual or collective problems within the employing educational institution or in the local community, in order to help children, adolescents, and adults.

The degree to be obtained (at the Department of Educational Studies) is that of a Master (M.A.) with general pedagogy as a specialty. Such a diploma confirms a solid theoretical preparation within different special fields of pedagogy and other close sciences as well as good preparation for manifold educationists’ activities and teacher work (made possible by an earlier first-cycle graduation, according to the particular training standards) or school counsellor work for different educational institutions.

This graduation entitles to apply for jobs focused on the organization of educational activities needed by schools, governmental institutions, local government organs, associations, and foundations.

The graduation entitles to apply for jobs in social counseling and rehabilitation institutions (diagnostic centres or addiction clinics); crisis intervention centres; schools (where therapist/educationist and school counselor jobs are available); the armed forces and the police force; law-courts (where court/penitentiary probation officer jobs can be applied for); reformatory, remand, and penal institutions (with educator jobs available); and in scientific research centres.

-       It prepares for prophylaxis, diagnostication, and therapeutic involvement in social rehabilitation.

-       It introduces to the methodology of probation officer work.

-       It introduces to the methodology of penitentiary/reformatory institution work.

-       It teaches how to formulate and implement community programmes of psychological prophylaxis, aimed
        at the prevention of different social pathologies.

-       It teaches how to support families, schools, and local communities in their coping with rearing problems.

-       It prepares for third-cycle (postgraduate) and other further studies.

He or she should be aware of the options and limitations in scientific cognition as well as grasp the rules to be applied to potential educational theories and the influence of such theories on the social reality.

Each graduate is also expected to take advantage of the theories in his or her professional work, for self-development, and in opinion-making procedures.

        these complications.

-       It teaches how to support children or adolescents in crises, as well as their parents whenever a proper
        care must be guaranteed.

-       It prepares for third-cycle (postgraduate) and other further studies.

-       It entitles to apply for community assistant and community caretaker jobs at centres of counseling

Such studies add to a meditative and critical thinking, focused both on the theory and the practical issues of rearing.

        to plan and implement adequate promotion programmes.

Such a diploma confirms a solid theoretical preparation within different special fields of pedagogy and other close sciences as well as a good preparation for manifold educationists’ activities and teacher work in the school system (made possible by an earlier first-cycle graduation, according to the particular training standards).

This specialty, i.e. pedagogy of integrated early education, obliges each graduate to skillfully solve, in the course of his or her professional work, any problems arising from an unequal development of those to be reared.

Each day in the work with children is a challenge to a graduate who must use a number of his or her highly specialized skills. It should be pointed out here that the ones responsible for their own educational competences are basically the teachers themselves.
